Trends, tips and timely stats Week Eight

| Heading into their game in Atlanta, the Patriots are 0-5
straight up and vs. the spread in their last five games against NFC foes.
The
Falcons are 1-8 straight up (2-7 vs. the number) in their last nine against AFC opponents. Looking
ahead to their game in New Orleans, the Jets have won straight up their last three as a
road dog vs. NFC teams.
The Saints are 2-8-1 vs. the spread in their last 11
against AFC teams.
Heading into their game in Miami, the Panthers have lost three straight by a total of
six points.
In Miamis last nine games vs. NFC opponents, seven have stayed
under the total.
The Broncos have won 11 of their last 12 matchups with the Raiders (9-2-1 against the
number).
Five of the last six meetings have gone over the total.
The Packers are looking for some improvement on offense heading into their game vs. the
Buccaneers. After an explosive start, Packers RB Ahman Green has not rushed for more than
73 yards in his last four games (only one TD).
QB Brett Favre threw two
interceptions and zero TD passes in two games vs. Tampa Bay last season.
Heading into their game with Dallas, the Giants have rushed for more than 100 yards
only twice in seven games this season.
New York has scored 20 or fewer points in
its last 17 meetings with the Cowboys, dating back to 1992.
Four of the last five
meetings have stayed under the total.
As they prepare for their game in Chicago, the Browns have had only one 100-yard
rushing game as a team 139 yards vs. Detroit in Week Two, led by rookie James
Jacksons 124 yards.
The Bears defense has not allowed more than 104
rushing yards in any game and has surrendered only one rushing TD.
Heading into his game against the Ravens, Steelers RB Jerome Bettis has rushed for at
least 100 yards in four of his last five games He gained only eight yards on nine carries
in the season opener at home vs. the Ravens in 2000 and has rushed for a total of only 199
yards in his last five games vs. Baltimore.
The Ravens run defense is ranked
