| Offense |
QB Peyton Manning
Indianapolis Colts
If Manning is indeed getting better, the remaining 30 teams should be very concerned.
He completed 23-of-29 passes for 421 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions. Manning
also ran for a one-yard score in the Colts 42-26 win over Buffalo. |
|
| Defense |
LB Takeo Spikes
Cincinnati Bengals
Spikes, the fiery leader of the Bengals improved defense, made six tackles and
returned a fourth-quarter interception 66 yards for the score that all but sealed the win
over Baltimore. He also batted away another pass in the endzone that a teammate took the
other way. |
|
| Golden Toe |
PK Jeff Wilkins
St. Louis RamsWilkins battled the wind in 3Com Park to nail all three of his
field-goal attempts. He connected from 44, 40 and 25 yards out in the Rams 30-26
defeat of the 49ers in San Francisco. |
