San Francisco 49ers
Garcia completed an efficient 14-of-21 passes in lighting the Saints up for 263 yards
and four touchdowns in a 38-0 victory. His first two scoring strikes, each to WR Terrell
Owens, covered a total of 116 yards. |

CB Otis Smith
New England Patriots
Smith was all over the place in the Patriots’ romp of the Panthers. In addition to
making five tackles, recording a sack for a six-yard loss and breaking up five passes, he
also picked off two passes. He returned both to the endzone, but only one, a 76-yarder,
counted, as the other was called back because of a holding penalty. |

PK John Hall
New York Jets
Other kickers made more field goals last week, but Hall’s 53-yarder with 59
seconds left proved to be enough to lift the Jets over the Raiders 24-22 and propel them
into the playoffs for the first time since ’98. |
