Brady, Stewart are most improved QBs

We asked our panel of NFL insiders to name the quarterbacks who made the greatest strides this season. All comments were made anonymously.

1. Tom Brady / Patriots — "May not be a star in the athletic sense, but he has played like a Pro Bowl quarterback this season and has given the Patriots the leadership and the intangibles they never got from Drew Bledsoe, even when Bledsoe was at his best."

2. Kordell Stewart / Steelers — "He’s grown up, and he finally has coaches who have figured out how to maximize his strong points and cover up his shortcomings."

3. Jake Plummer / Cardinals — "Much more under control and disciplined."

4. Steve McNair / Titans — "Has developed into a dangerous long-ball thrower."

5. Alex Van Pelt / Bills — "Not a starter, but he should be a respectable No. 2 and did better than Rob Johnson."

6. Tim Couch / Browns — "All his stats are much better, but he still did not get the ball into the endzone enough until Week 16 against the Titans."
