The following list of the NFLs top 50 players is based on two factors, with each
counting as half of the equation. The first was how well the individual played in 2001,
and the second was his value to his team. With these components in mind, we asked our
panel of NFL insiders to name the leagues top performers during the 2001 campaign.

"Nobody else has anyone like Faulk. Not only is he the best pure runner in
football, hes the best pass-catching back in the game, a team leader and a very
smart player who does an exceptional job of picking up the blitz."
