Week 17 fantasy football

Matchups to exploit or avoid

By Jeff Agrest, Senior editor

Teams on bye: San Diego Chargers

Matchups to exploit

In his last three games vs. the Cardinals, Redskins RB Stephen Davis has broken 100 yards rushing three times and has scored two touchdowns.

In his last game vs. the Bills, Dolphins WR Chris Chambers caught five passes for 101 yards and two touchdowns.

Nines RB Garrison Hearst rushed for 145 yards on 17 carries in his previous meeting with the Saints.

Patriots RB Antowain Smith is a good play vs. the Panthers, who have allowed 158 and 215 yards rushing in their last two games.

Matchups to avoid

Jaguars RB Stacey Mack’s recent run of success could come to an end vs. the Bears, who rank second in the league in run defense and have allowed only six rushing touchdowns all season.

Colts RB Dominic Rhodes might have a difficult time against the Broncos, who have held four of their last five opponents to fewer than 100 yards rushing.

Bengals RB Corey Dillon doesn’t have a good matchup against the Titans, who have allowed only two opponents to break 100 yards rushing since Week Eight.

Bears WR Marty Booker has either scored a touchdown or broken 100 yards receiving in every even-numbered week but one (Week 12), and he hasn’t done either in any odd-numbered weeks. That doesn’t bode well for him in Week 17.
