Matchups to exploit or avoid

By Jeff Agrest, Senior editor

Teams on bye: Carolina Panthers

Matchups to exploit

Chargers RB LaDainian Tomlinson might finally break 100 yards again against a Raiders defense that has allowed an average of 182.0 yards rushing over the last six games.

In his last meeting with the Vikings, Lions RB James Stewart rushed for 108 yards on 16 carries. Minnesota has allowed an average of 177.0 yards rushing over the last three games.

Saints QB Aaron Brooks has thrown seven TD passes and just one interception in his last two meetings with the Rams, including last season’s wild-card game.

Packers WR Antonio Freeman has caught a TD pass or broken 100 yards receiving in five of his last six games. He should take advantage of a Titans defense that has allowed 21 TD passes this season.

Matchups to avoid

Bills WR Eric Moulds has gone four straight games against the Patriots without a TD catch. In Week Nine, he caught three passes for only seven yards.

Cardinals RB Michael Pittman might not find the endzone against the Giants, who have allowed an NFL-low four rushing touchdowns this season (tied with Philadelphia).

Titans QB Steve McNair has been hot of late, but he could run into trouble against a Packers defense has allowed a league-low nine TD passes this season

Niners RB Garrison Hearst will be hard-pressed to find the endzone against Zach Thomas and the Dolphins, who have allowed only five rushing touchdowns all season.
