Matchups to exploit or avoid

Teams on bye: Baltimore RavensMatchups to exploit
Bills RB Travis Henry has shown flashes of ability. He could put it together
against the Panthers’ lowly run defense. Carolina ranks last in the league in yards
allowed per game.
Redskins WR Michael Westbrook could make some big plays against a suspect
Cardinals pass defense. Arizona, which allowed 301 yards to Oakland last week, ranks last
in the league in passing yards allowed per game.
In his last meeting against the Colts, Dolphins WR Chris Chambers caught three
passes for 113 yards and two touchdowns. Chambers is expected to play despite suffering
bruised ribs last week.
Titans WR Derrick Mason is on a roll, recording consecutive 100-yard receiving
games. Stick with him this week against the Vikings, whose defense remains suspect despite
some upgrades in the secondary.
Matchups to avoid
Chargers WR Curtis Conway doesn’t have a great matchup against an Eagles
defense that has allowed only nine passing touchdowns this season.
In their first meeting against the Packers, the Bears were held without a touchdown. WR
Marty Booker might catch a lot of passes this week, but he doesn’t figure to
reach paydirt.
It might be enticing to give Falcons QB Michael Vick a try, but this isn’t
the week to do it. The Saints’ pass rush is picking up the pace, notching 12 sacks in
the last two games.
Chiefs WR Derrick Alexander could have a tough time against Raiders CB Charles
Woodson, who will be looking to redeem himself following last week’s loss to David
Boston and the Cardinals. |
