Week 11 fantasy football

Matchups to exploit or avoid

By Jeff Agrest, Senior editor

Teams on bye: New York Jets

Matchups to exploit

Bears WR Marty Booker should have some scoring chances against a susceptible Vikings defense. Booker scored in the teams’ first meetings and caught three TD passes last week.

Though he’s been overshadowed by Bill Schroeder, Packers WR Antonio Freeman is hot (three TD catches in the last three games), and he has a great matchup against a porous Lions defense.

As frustrating as he’s been, Dolphins RB Lamar Smith could exploit a Bills defense that has allowed 11 rushing touchdowns, tied for most in the league (Oakland is the other).

Falcons WR Terance Mathis (seven catches for 70 yards last week) could reach paydirt against the Panthers, who have allowed 16 TD passes this season, tied for second-most in the league.

Matchups to avoid

Redskins WR Michael Westbrook has come on of late (three TD catches in last three games), but he has a bad matchup against an Eagles defense that has allowed the third-fewest TD passes in the league (eight).

Eagles RB Duce Staley has been hot, but he’ll run into an even hotter Redskins defense. Washington has held its last three opponents to fewer than 90 rushing yards, allowing just one rushing touchdown.

Lions QB Charlie Batch should come back to earth this week. Batch, who threw for 436 yards and three touchdowns last week, will face a Packers defense that has allowed the second-fewest TD passes in the league (seven).

Giants QB Kerry Collins could struggle against a Raiders defense that has held opponents to a completion percentage of only 54.2, best in the league.
