66. Houston: C Fred Weary, Tennessee
Buchsbaum says: Weary is a big, strong, physical inside layer who doesnt have the
quickest feet but is effective in close quarters. He was considered Tennessees best
offensive lineman last season. Hes physical and hes a leader.

67. Cincinnati (from Carolina): TE Matt Schobel, Texas Christian
Trade terms: Panthers traded this pick to Bengals in exchange for 73rd pick
(third round) and 145th pick (fifth round).
Buchsbaum says: I really like him; its a great pick for the Bengals. Hes a
big, fast tight end with very good hands and is a decent blocker. He makes up for last
years third-round pick, Sean Brewer, who looks like a bust.

68. Detroit: CB Andre Goodman, South Carolina
Buchsbaum says: Hes quick and speedy, with good cover skills. Size and durability
are concerns. Seems to be susceptible to shoulder injuries.
Top of page
69. San Francisco (from Buffalo): LB Saleem Rasheed, Alabama
Buchsbaum says: Outstanding speed. Sideline-to-sideline player. Better vs. the run than
the pass. Should help right away on special teams.
Top of page
70. Minnesota: S Willie Offord, South Carolina
Buchsbaum says: In-the-box type safety. Big, physical and a big hitter.
Top of page
71. San Diego: LB Ben Leber, Kansas State
Buchsbaum says: Smart, disciplined linebacker with good, not great, instincts. Has size
and speed. Is very coachable. Can play either the strong or weak side.
Top of page
72. Chicago (from Dallas): CB Roosevelt Williams, Tuskegee
Buchsbaum says: A bigger, physical corner with good upside potential. Showed he could
play with the big boys in the all-star games. Gives the Bears depth at cornerback.
Top of page
73. Carolina (from Cincinnati): LB Will Witherspoon, Georgia
Buchsbaum says: The Panthers needed linebackers, and they wanted speed. Hes not
the most instinctive player, but he can really run.
Top of page
74. Indianapolis: CB Joseph Jefferson, Western Kentucky
Buchsbaum says: A heck of a pick. Hes a bigger corner with excellent speed who
kept getting better in the all-star games. Probably moved up from a sixth-round pick to a
third-rounder at the Senior Bowl and could have gone as high as the second round. Picked
up coaching well at the Senior Bowl.
Top of page
75. Dallas (from Kansas City): CB Derek Ross, Ohio State
Buchsbaum says: A bigger, more physical cornerback with good ball skills but lacks
great top-end speed and has had off-the-field problems.
Top of page
76. Cleveland (from Jacksonville): C Melvin Fowler, Maryland
Trade terms: Jaguars traded this pick to Browns in exchange for 79th pick
(third round) and LB Wali Rainer.
Buchsbaum says: Hes a very good center. The question I have is I thought
Clevelands one constant on the offensive line was their center, Dave Wohlabaugh.
Top of page
77. Tennessee: LB Rocky Calmus, Oklahoma
Buchsbaum says: Very instinctive, productive linebacker. People say he lacks some
athletic ability, some playing strength, but he always seems to get to the ball and has
always been productive.
Top of page
78. N.Y. Giants: OT Jeff Hatch, Pennsylvania
Buchsbaum says: Very interesting developmental-type prospect. Has size and size
potential. Has quick feet. Has played only a couple of years on offense after playing
defense. The type of player a good offensive coach like Jim McNally can do something with.
Could eventually become a left tackle.

79. Washington (from Cleveland through Jacksonville): CB Rashad
Bauman, Oregon
Trade terms: Jaguars traded this pick to Redskins in exchange for 89th pick
(third round) and 118th pick (fourth round). Previously Jaguars had obtained
this pick from Browns (see pick No. 76).
Buchsbaum says: If Bauman were four inches taller, he wouldve been a top pick.
Hes in the Darrell Green mold. With Fred Smoot, Champ Bailey, Green and Bauman, the
Redskins have the best foursome of cover corners in the NFL with the possible exception of
Philadelphia.
Top of page
80. Atlanta: LB Will Overstreet, Tennessee
Buchsbaum says: Natural 3-4 OLB, which shows the Titans are committing to the 3-4
defense. Excellent special-teams player and a good rusher off the edge. A warrior. Some
teams were concerned about his back problems.
Top of page
81. Arizona: QB Josh McCown, Sam Houston State
Buchsbaum says: Very interesting developmental QB with outstanding size and speed.
Showed well at the Senior Bowl.
Top of page
82. New Orleans: LB James Allen, Oregon State
Buchsbaum says: Speedy, active, athletic linebacker who had a somewhat disappointing
senior year. Seems to often be a close-but-no-cigar type of player. Should help as a
nickel linebacker and on special teams.
Top of page
83. Houston (supplemental): DT Charles Hill, Maryland
Buchsbaum says: Fits the scheme the Texans want to play. Gives them a backup nose
tackle. High-motor, high-intensity player with some quickness.
Top of page
84. St. Louis (from Washington through Kansas City): RB Lamar
Gordon, North Dakota State
Buchsbaum says: The Rams were looking for more depth at running back. Gordon has
excellent speed for his size.

Denver (forfeited)
85. Seattle: CB Kris Richard, USC
Buchsbaum says: Good cover guy. Very good workouts. Quick feet, nifty and agile. Pete
Carroll is very high on him.
Top of page
86. Tampa Bay: WR Marquise Walker, Michigan
Buchsbaum says: Big, physical receiver. Can make big plays and is an excellent
special-teams player as a kick blocker and a return man. His hands are inconsistent. Lacks
pure speed but sometimes plays much faster than he times.
Top of page
87. Washington (from Baltimore): WR Cliff Russell, Utah
Buchsbaum says: Tremendous speed. Can get deep to make the big play. Needs to get more
consistent catching the ball. May have been a bit of an underachiever in college.
Top of page
88. N.Y. Jets: TE Chris Baker, Michigan State
Buchsbaum says: Has excellent hands. Gives them a quality second tight end. Can block
but isnt an intense blocker.
Top of page
89. Jacksonville (from Oakland through Washington): DE Akin
Ayodele, Purdue
Buchsbaum says: I really like this guy. Hes a good pass rusher with a good motor.
He reminds me of the Bears Rosevelt Colvin. He didnt run a good 40-time, but
he plays fast.
Top of page
90. Miami: C Seth McKinney, Texas A&M
Buchsbaum says: Just a good football player. Not the best athlete in the world but
knows how to play football. The Dolphins seemingly werent very happy with the play
of their center last year. McKinney is a great-effort guy. One wishes he were more
flexible in the lower body, but hes always ready to play.
Top of page
91. Philadelphia: RB Brian Westbrook, Villanova
Buchsbaum says: Excellent third-down back who can also be a return guy and a receiver
out of the backfield. Exciting little player; sort of a cross between Marshall Faulk and
Dave Meggett. I really like this guy as a football player.
Top of page
San Francisco (forfeited)
92. Green Bay: S Marques Anderson, UCLA
Buchsbaum says: Very tough, good in-the-box strong safety whom the Packers will groom
behind LeRoy Butler. Last year they didnt have anyone capable to fill in when Butler
when was injured.
Top of page
93. Chicago: OG Terrence Metcalf, Mississippi
Buchsbaum says: I like him at this spot. He can play guard; he might be able to play
tackle. Has a tendency to play on his toes, but if he can correct that, he can be an
overpowering guy.
Top of page
94. Pittsburgh: S Chris Hope, Florida State
Buchsbaum says: Good football player The Steelers needed a safety, and he can help
them. A good athlete the type you like as a football player.
Top of page
95. St. Louis: WR Eric Crouch, Nebraska
Buchsbaum says: Has the one thing that Mike Martz likes best: speed. Martz feels he can
develop Crouch into a receiver; he also could play some quarterback. A competitive kid and
a real good athlete.
Top of page
96. Denver (from New England through Washington and Baltimore): DT
Dorsett Davis, Mississippi State
Trade terms: Ravens traded this pick to Broncos in exchange for 112th pick
(fourth round) and 155th pick (fifth round).
Buchsbaum says: Big, physical defensive tackle. Great body but not a great player. He
had one game as a junior vs. Texas A&M where he played like Tarzan.
Top of page
97. Buffalo (compensatory): S Coy Wire, Stanford
Buchsbaum says: He fits what the Bills want in a strong safety. Hes half
linebacker, half safety. Aggressive. A poor mans Adam Archuleta.
Top of page
98. Arizona (compensatory): DE Dennis Johnson, Kentucky
Buchsbaum says: The Cardinals need all the DL help they can get. Hes a good
athlete, but he needs to develop his strength. He could become a good football player.
