Week Three power rankings

By Andy Hanacek, Associate editor and XFL analyst

It’s getting a bit clearer now as to which teams are good and which teams need some help. But there’s still a logjam in the middle. Sounds just like another football league most of us pay attention to.

1. Orlando Rage (3-0, last week ranked 2nd) —Jeff Brohm is my early, early pick for MVP, or maybe it’s called “Best Player at the End.”

2. Birmingham Bolts (2-1, last week tied for 3rd) — Hey, Birmingham fans! Still want to boo Casey Weldon?

3. Las Vegas Outlaws (2-1, last week 1) — Their defense gave up four times as many points this week as they did in the first two.

4. Los Angeles Xtreme (2-1, last week 3t) — The most exciting team in the league, simply because every game has come down to the final play.

5. San Francisco Demons (2-1, last week 6) — Mike Pawlawski is showing much poise on a team many picked for dead last.

6. Memphis Maniax (1-2, last week 5) — The curse of the politically incorrect nickname has obviously warped the minds of these young men.

7. Chicago Enforcers (0-3, last week 7) — The auto show was in town, and the Enforcers were on the road for three weeks? Who scheduled that?

8. NY/NJ Hitmen (0-3, last week 8) — It’s a good thing two of the top three TV markets have teams that are 0-3. That’s got to help the ratings.
