Revised XFL predictions

By Andy Hanacek, Associate editor and XFL analyst

OK, so I warned you at the start of the season that I would be changing these once I got a bead on who was good and who wasn’t. So here it goes.

East

1. Orlando Rage — How can anyone put these guys anywhere else in the standings?

2. Chicago Enforcers — If John Avery stays healthy and the ball starts bouncing their way, I truly believe they’ll jump over Birmingham.

3. Birmingham Thunderbolts — The Bolts have James Bostic at running back, who has shown flashes but hasn’t been consistent enough to carry the team.

4. New York/New Jersey Hitmen — Aside from Wally Richardson, this team really has no promising weapons.

West

1. San Francisco Demons — Where did these guys come from? This team is in for a dogfight with L.A. down to the wire.

2. Los Angeles Xtreme — Tommy Maddox is getting dangerously comfortable with taking a pounding and throwing touchdowns in the process.

3. Las Vegas Outlaws — The defense has shown it is not infallible, and I have to believe having a new quarterback every two weeks doesn’t help matters on offense.

4. Memphis Maniax — I guess having all those former first-round NFLers won’t help after all.

Championship game: Orlando 34, Los Angeles 28.
