Bills hire Gray as defensive coordinator
Gregg Williams tabbed Titans DB coach Jerry Gray to be the Bills’ new defensive
coordinator. Gray, 38, played nine years as a cornerback in the NFL and spent the last two
years as the Titans’ DB coach.
PFW: Comment on Jerry Gray’s hiring.
Buchsbaum: Gregg Williams worked with him closely in Tennessee. He’s an
up-and-coming coach.
PFW: Will he bring any change in schemes to the Bills?
Buchsbaum: Yes. There will be more of the 46; there will be more blitzing. There will
probably be more 4-3.
Buchsbaum’s thoughts leading up to free agency
Buchsbaum: I think the big thing you’re going to see coming up now is which
players are going to be willing to redo or restructure contracts. You could end up with a
lot of very big-name players on the street such as Elvis Grbac or Mark Brunell, unless
they redo (the contracts), because the club would take such a tremendous cap hit if they
didn’t. |
