Trends, Tips and Timely Stats — Week 15

  • The last seven games between the Packers and Lions have been won by the home team (6-0-1 vs. the spread). Detroit is 5-1 vs. the spread on the road this season, including 3-0 both straight up and vs. the spread on grass. Green Bay is only 2-4 vs. the spread at home.
  • Heading into their game in Kansas City, Carolina is 5-1 vs. the spread in their last six vs. AFC teams. The Chiefs have lost their last five game both straight up and vs. the spread.
  • Heading into their game at Jacksonville, the Cardinals are 0-6 on the road (1-5 vs. the spread). The Jaguars have won and covered their last three.
  • Heading into their game in St. Louis, the Vikings are 9-0 straight up on artificial turf (6-3 vs. the spread). Meanwhile, the Rams are only 2-6-1 vs. the spread on turf. St. Louis has lost three straight and four of their last five, including their last three home games.
  • The Cowboys are 8-2 straight up and vs. the spread in their last 10 home games vs. the Redskins.
  • Heading into their game at Chicago, the Patriots are 0-6 straight up and vs. the spread in their last six games vs. NFC Central opponents. As favorites, the Bears and Patriots are a combined 1-7 straight up and 0-8 vs. the spread.
  • Heading into their game in Cleveland, the Eagles are 9-3-2 vs. the spread (6-1 on the road). The Browns are 4-10 vs. the spread. The struggling Browns have scored 10 or fewer points in seven of their last eight games.
  • Two of the better teams vs. the number will battle when the Steelers travel to New York to face the Giants. Pittsburgh is 9-4 vs. the spread (5-1 on the road), while the Giants are 8-5 (only 2-4 at home).
  • Heading into their game in San Francisco, the Saints are 4-0 straight up and vs. the spread on grass.
  • All eight players who have caught a pass for the Colts have at least one TD catch.
  • Broncos tight ends have caught five TD passes in the last four games (seven all season). QB Gus Frerotte has thrown at least one TD pass to a tight end each of the last three games.
  • Heading into their contest vs. the Chiefs, the Panthers have 12 takeaways in their last two games. Despite three turnovers last week, Kansas City has committed only 19 for the season.
