Trends, Tips and Timely Stats — Week 13

By Art Edelstein, Contributing writer

Heading into their game vs. the Jaguars, the Titans are 5-1 straight up and vs. the spread at Jacksonville. The Jaguars are 1-4 straight up and vs. the spread at home.

The Saints are 7-3 vs. the spread in their last 10 trips to St. Louis and are 4-2 vs. the spread on the road this season. The Rams are 1-4-1 vs. the spread at home.

Heading into their big battle at Washington, the Eagles are 5-1 vs. the spread away from home.

Heading into their game at Cincinnati, the Steelers are 4-1 vs. the spread on the road. The Bengals are 1-3-1 vs. the spread at home.

Heading into their game at Arizona, the Giants are 4-1 vs. the spread on the road. The Cardinals are 2-4 vs. the spread at home.

Arizona has allowed a league-high 20 rushing TDs. Giants RBs Ron Dayne and Tiki Barber could be in for big days.

Chiefs QB Elvis Grbac threw five TD passes vs. the Chargers in Week Three. San Diego has allowed a league-high 26 TD passes.

Kansas City has not forced a turnover in three straight games, but that streak should end vs. the Chargers who have a league-high 31 turnovers (at least two in each game).

Panthers Ken Walter is the only punter without a touchback.

In nine of the Ravens’ games, at least one team has not scored a TD. Baltimore has four shutouts.

If turnovers are a factor when the Colts and Dolphins play, Miami should have the edge. The Dolphins are a plus-14, while the Colts are a minus-8.

It could be a Thanksgiving turnover fest in Dallas. The Vikings are a minus-10, while the Cowboys are a minus-8.

Dallas has a league-low 15 sacks. Vikings QB Daunte Culpepper should have a lot of time finding WRs Cris Carter and Randy Moss.
