Jacksonville's release of Bryce Paup
|
| LB Bryce Paup finally got his wish
last week, as the Jaguars granted him his release. The 1995 NFL Defensive Player of the
Year had renegotiated his contract in February to make a June release easier. Paup, who
has also played for the Packers and Bills, signed a five-year, $21 million deal with the
Jaguars before the 98 season, but he never seemed to fit Jacksonvilles
defense.
ProFootballWeekly.com asked contributing editor Joel Buchsbaum to analyze Paups
play.
Q: Whats the scouting report on Paup now?
Buchsbaum: Its hard to say. It looks like hes really slowed down. His
strength always used to be rushing the passer. |
