The Vikings' release of Randall Cunningham

| As expected, the Vikings released QB
Randall Cunningham in a salary-cap related move last week. It saved Minnesota $1.5 million
against this year’s salary cap. Cunningham led the Vikings to a 15-1 record and an
NFC championship game appearance in ’98 but was benched in Game Six last season.
ProFootballWeekly.com asked contributing editor Joel Buchsbaum for his take on
Cunningham.
Q: What’s the scouting report on Randall Cunningham?
Buchsbaum: He’s a possible veteran backup. He has big-play ability and can spark a
team if everything’s right around him but can also turn into a cancer. |
