Can the Broncos turn back the clock?

The early risers typically walk through the orange double doors shortly after sunrise.

All-Pro RB Terrell Davis and FB Howard Griffith are among those who regularly convene for voluntary offseason workouts.

By 7 a.m., about 30 players are running or lifting weights, and several others will arrive later as they work toward restoring credibility to a fallen two-time Super Bowl champion beset by injuries.

"Guys want to get back and capture that magic," Griffith said. "When you go to two Super Bowls and then you had the type of season that we had last year … We had quite a few injuries that affected us, but the bottom line is we ended up with a horrible record."

The Broncos finished with a 6-10 record.

ProFootballWeekly.com asked contributing editor Joel Buchsbaum to weigh in on this subject:

Q: How do you view the Broncos as a team with the changes they’ve made this offseason?

Buchsbaum: Have to see how Terrell Davis runs and who the quarterback is.

Q: If they get Steve Young, do they jump up with the elite teams in the AFC?

Buchsbaum: You don’t know if Steve Young can play any more with those concussions.

Q: Other than Davis and the quarterback, are there any other areas on that team that you think are critical for them to get back to where they were?

Buchsbaum: Lots of areas. Every area on the team. I mean you can go position by position.

Q: Do you like what they’ve done this offseason?

Buchsbaum: Mixed.
