Trends, Tips and Timely Stats — Week 11

By Art Edelstein

  • Heading into their Week 11 home game vs. the Bills, the Jets are 1-4 straight up at the Meadowlands and 0-4-1 vs. the spread.
  • Two important stats came out of the Bills’ big wins the last two weeks vs. the Redskins and Dolphins: Buffalo didn’t commit a turnover in both games — they had committed at least one turnover in each of their previous eight games — and dominated time of possession by about a 2-1 ratio in both. The Bills might have trouble controlling the ball to that extent vs. a Jets team that has rushed for at least 156 yards in its last four games, led by RB Curtis Martin, who has run for at least 123 yards in each contest.
  • Bills WR Eric Moulds has a TD catch in his last five games, but he has never caught a TD pass vs. the Jets.
  • Eight of the Bears’ 10 games this season have been decided by four or fewer points.
  • The Chargers have not caused a turnover in their last three games.
  • The Chiefs have won nine of their last 10 home games vs. the Seahawks, covering the spread seven times.
  • The last four games between the Chiefs and Seahawks have stayed under the total.
  • The Giants have covered the spread in seven of their last 10 trips to Washington.
  • Heading into their Week 11 game in Miami, the Patriots are 3-1 on the road straight up and vs. the spread.
  • The last five regular-season games between the Patriots and Dolphins have been decided by three or fewer points.
  • The Titans have won and covered in three straight games vs. the Steelers.
  • The Raiders have lost by 26 and 28 points in their last two trips to Denver.
  • Heading into their Week 11 game vs. the Bengals, the Ravens have scored more than 20 points only once. Conversely, Baltimore has held 6-of-9 foes to 14 points or fewer.
  • The Falcons’ Week 11 trip to Tampa Bay will mark their first game on grass this season.
