Trends, tips and timely stats — Week Three

  • The Lions have not started a season 3-0 since 1980.
  • Heading into their game vs. the Lions, the Chiefs have won nine straight at home vs. NFC teams, covering the pointspread in 7-of-9.
  • The Bears are 14-7 vs. the pointspread in their last 21 games.
  • Heading into their game at San Diego, the Colts have lost 10 straight road games straight up.
  • Going into their game vs. Tennessee, Jacksonville is 24-3 at home in their last 27 games, including playoffs.
  • Tennessee has won eight straight games vs. AFC Central foes.
  • Titans RB Eddie George was held to 71 yards on 28 carries combined in the two games vs. Jacksonville in 1998.
  • The Eagles were 0-15-1 on the road the last two seasons.
  • The "Cardiac Cards" continue to play close games. In Arizona's last 11 regular-season games, 10 have been decided by seven or fewer points.
  • Redskins RB Stephen Davis has five rushing TDs. The Redskins' team did not reach five rushing TDs last season until Week Nine.
  • This could be the week for Packers TE Tyrone Davis to break out. He scored three TDs in the two games vs. the Vikings last season.
  • Vikings WR Randy Moss has not had a 100-yard receiving game in his last five regular-season contests.
