Buchsbaum analyzes new Saints head coach Jim Haslett

Edition asked contributing editor Joel Buchsbaum about new Saints head coach Jim Haslett.
Here’s what Buchsbaum said: Q: What is your analysis of Haslett being hired
as head coach by the Saints?
Buchsbaum: He’s a lot like Bill Cowher coming in — very fiery, emotional,
good football mind, and the players respect him.
Q: What weaknesses (if any) does he need to work on as he makes the jump to
head coach?
Buchsbaum: Controlling his emotions. And I’m not sure how good he’ll be at
delegating authority.
Q: What does his hiring mean as far as Ricky Williams’ future workload is
concerned?
Buchsbaum: He’ll get a lot of carries. Haslett goes with his best weapon. If
he’s got a better running back than a passer, he’s going to run the ball. |
