We asked our panel of NFL insiders to name the best athletes in the league. Their
responses, made anonymously, are listed below.
1. Randy Moss, Vikings — "A freak. Too big, fast, nifty,
athletic and coordinated to be human. Looks like a man among boys." … "The
best pure athlete I have ever seen." … "Abilitywise, he can be the
NFL’s answer to Michael Jordan."
2. Deion Sanders, Cowboys — "He has everything you want in a
corner and then some. Is still the best corner and punt returner in the NFL. Does things
athletically that are beyond humans."
3. Jevon Kearse, Titans — "He is a defensive end with the
movement skills of a cornerback and the wingspan of a 747." … "Barring
injury, he could be the league’s next Lawrence Taylor or Bruce Smith if success does
