Coping with Adversity |
| There are
a number of factors that determine a team’s success or failure. Talent. Coaching.
Home-field advantage.
Another major factor is how a club deals with adversity during the course of a season.
Very rarely does everything go completely according to plan, which is why a team’s
ability to adapt when faced with unexpected bumps in the road is so significant.
How does a team deal with a major injury to a key player?
How does a club handle the pressure of a losing streak?
How does a franchise maintain unity and keep from pointing fingers when everything is
going wrong?
How well or poorly a team answers these questions can go a long way toward separating a
positive season from one that goes up in flames.
For 10 weeks, Pro Football Weekly editor-in-chief Ron Pollack will look at how
10 different teams handled adversity during this past season. Each Thursday, a different
