Matchups to exploit
The Bills might be able to keep their running game going against the Seahawks. Led by Shawn
Bryson (82 yards on 19 carries), Buffalo is coming off its best rushing performance of
the season (178 yards). Seattle surrendered 227 rushing yards to Oakland last week and has
allowed an average of 189.0 rushing yards in its last four games.
In his last two games against the Cardinals, Redskins RB Stephen Davis has two
touchdowns and two 100-yard outings. Arizona has struggled greatly defending the run this
season, allowing an average of 164.6 yards per game.
In his last three meetings with the Buccaneers in Green Bay, Packers WR Antonio
Freeman has five TD catches and one 100-yard game.
Chiefs RB Tony Richardson, who has rushed for 245 yards in his last two games,
is a good play against a Falcons defense that has surrendered an average of 168.3 rushing
yards in three games against AFC West teams this season.
Matchups to avoid
Jets RB Curtis Martin doesnt figure to do much against a Ravens defense
that has gone 31 straight games without allowing a 100-yard rusher. Martin has only three
100-yard games all season, including a 200-yard performance.
Falcons RB Jamal Anderson doesnt have a good matchup against a Chiefs
defense that has held four of its last five opponents to 75 rushing yards or fewer.
Steelers RB Jerome Bettis may find little room to run against a Chargers defense
that has allowed only one team to rush for 100 yards since Week Five. Last week San Diego
held the Panthers to only 11 yards rushing.
Cowboys RB Emmitt Smith could be in for a tough day against a Titans defense
that has held six of its last eight opponents to fewer than 100 yards rushing. For the
season, Tennessee is allowing an average of only 86.9 yards rushing per game. |
