Matchups to exploit or avoid

Matchups to exploit

Falcons WR Terance Mathis has caught five TD passes in his last five games vs. the 49ers.

Jaguars WR Keenan McCardell has two TD catches and two 100-yard performances in his last three meetings with the Steelers.

Giants RBs Ron Dayne and Tiki Barber will face a Lions defense that has allowed a 100-yard rusher in each of its last three games.

Jets WR Wayne Chrebet has caught a TD pass in each of his last two meetings with the Dolphins.

Matchups to avoid

The Bears haven’t scored a touchdown vs. the Buccaneers in three straight games, coming up with only three field goals.

Cowboys RB Emmitt Smith may find little room to run vs. a Ravens defense that has gone an NFL-best 28 games without allowing a 100-yard rusher.

Avoid Chiefs running backs, not just because they’ve done little this season, but because they’re facing a Bills defense that’s held its last five opponents to fewer than 100 yards rushing. It’s also surrendered only four rushing touchdowns all season.

This week vs. Tennessee, the Browns should look more like the team that failed to score more than three points from Week Eight through Week 10. That means the likes of RB Travis Prentice and WR Kevin Johnson could struggle.
