Week 10 fantasy football

Weekend injury update

Saturday, Nov. 4, 2000

As indicated in Friday's "Late-week fantasy tips" on this site, Saints WRs Joe Horn and Keith Poole will start Sunday despite being listed as questionable during the week. The same goes for Titans RB Eddie George, who continues to play despite a knee injury. George's teammate, QB Steve McNair, also will start despite a back injury. However, Titans WR Yancey Thigpen, who has been on the injury list much of the season, will sit out Sunday's game.

Raiders RBs Tyrone Wheatley and Jon Ritchie both participated in Friday's practice. So, Wheatley may play a bigger role in the offense than was anticipated earlier in the week.

Rams RB Marshall Faulk continues to play despite knee and shoulder problems, but he will have a different fullback blocking for him Sunday, as James Hodgins replaces Robert Holcombe, who has a hamstring injury.

Bert Emanuel practiced Friday despite his wrist injury and might see some action Sunday for the Dolphins' injury-depleted WR corps.

With Packers RB Dorsey Levens missing practice Friday for the third straight day with a bruised right kneecap, his coaches weren't optimistic that he would be able to play Monday night against Minnesota. Ahman Green will likely start in Levens' place, and recently activated De'Mond Parker may have to be the backup.

On top of the season-ending injury to TE Wesley Walls and a shoulder injury that has backup TE Kris Mangum doubtful for Sunday's game at St. Louis, Carolina's offensive line also has been shaken up, which could have ramifications on the entire Panthers offense. Starting OLT Clarence Jones will miss the game with a knee injury and is being replaced by rookie Jeno Jones because backup OLT Matt Campbell has had to move to left guard to fill in for the injured Bryan Stoltenberg (knee).

Seahawks RB Ricky Watters practiced Friday with his turf-toe injury and appears likely to play Sunday against San Diego. For the Chargers, Moses Moreno will back up Jim Harbaugh at quarterback because Ryan Leaf's wrist injury hasn't improved.

Browns WR Darren Chiaverini will miss Sunday's game with a knee injury.

Jets TE Anthony Becht, who had been listed as doubtful earlier in the week with a knee injury, practiced Friday and likely will play Sunday.
