Q&A with UCLA WR Danny Farmer

| Q: Your dad, George Farmer, was
an NFL receiver. What did he tell you about this whole process? Farmer:
He’s been through it. He helps me out a lot. It’s something he’s very
interested in. He’s very excited, very nervous. I think he’s more nervous than I
am. I think it’s kind of bringing back the memories for him.
Q: Did he give you any advice that stands out in your mind?
Farmer: He just kind of told me to be myself, and things will happen for the best.
That’s what I’ve tried to do throughout my whole life. He hasn’t guided me
through this process; he’s guided me throughout life.
Q: You’re a star volleyball player too. Are there any similarities between
volleyball and football?
Farmer: They both have two teams, and you have a ball — that’s about it.
There’s a lot of differences. For me, the similarities are just going out to compete
and play against other people. In terms of the sports, both of them use hand-eye
coordination, but in different ways.
Q: If the money and the opportunities were the same in both sports, would you
have a difficult time deciding which sport to play?
Farmer: I don’t think so. I think I’d stick with football. I’ve always
had a great love for football. I watched it growing up. My father played, and I think
it’s always been in me.
